3D staircase configurator for stair manufacturers.
Floor height, risers, width, stair type, stringer, treads and balustrade, priced live. The riser count follows the floor-to-floor height.
SBFS builds 3D configurators for staircase manufacturers and joiners: buyers enter the floor-to-floor height, pick the stair type, treads and balustrade, see the flight in 3D and get a price, while the riser count stays inside the building code. The demo below is a working example. A configurator is priced from a $4,000 one-time Pilot on your own site to $50,000 and up for the full channel, with a monthly fee on each build tier.

Quoting staircases by hand
Every staircase is made to one floor-to-floor height, so every quote starts with a site measure and a drawing. The rise, the going and the guard all have code limits, and a buyer choosing between a mono stringer and a floating stair cannot check them from a brochure. A rep works out the risers and prices the stringers, treads and balustrade by hand. A choice that breaks a rule is often caught only at the drawing stage.
What the configurator does
The demo above shows what a buyer sees. A build for you starts from your own products, rules and prices.
In this demo
Floor height and risers
Floor to floor from 2.4 to 3.6 m, and the riser count follows the floor-to-floor height: only counts that keep each rise between 150 and 196 mm are offered.
Stair type and stringer
Closed stringer, mono stringer on one steel spine, or floating treads cantilevered from the wall, with black steel, white steel, white oak or a concealed stringer.
Treads, width and balustrade
Solid white oak, walnut or maple treads, a width that never drops below the code minimum, and frameless glass, steel spindles, oak spindles or walled in.
Structure rules
A floating stair hides its steel inside the wall, a mono stringer is steel only, and neither can be walled in or take oak spindles.
AI mode
Describe what you want in plain words and the assistant sets the options for you, inside the same rules.
Live price
The estimate updates with every change and lists what each option adds. The prices in this demo are samples; yours come from your own price list.
In your build
Your catalog and your price list
Your products, option names and prices, embedded in your site or Shopify.
Option rules
Combinations your shop cannot build are blocked as the buyer configures, so what leaves the browser is buildable.
Quotes and leads
Each configuration reaches your team as a lead or a quote, with every option attached.
Production outputs and integrations
Any size the buyer types in (within your fabrication rules), files for production, and a connection to your online store or ERP.

Door Builder
Quotes that took Door Builder's sales team about two and a half weeks now take a dealer four minutes. Dealers design, price and order doors on their own, residential and commercial pricing applies by itself, and every order that comes in is a door the shop can actually build.

If your stairs are designed in SOLIDWORKS and the engineering output is what you need, a CAD configurator such as DriveWorks may cover it: it says it can "Automatically create order-specific SOLIDWORKS® parts, assemblies, and drawings" (driveworks.co.uk, read November 2, 2026).
A custom build is worth it when buyers and dealers configure on their own, against your code limits and price list, and each order has to reach your shop. If a ready-made tool covers your range, we say so in Diagnose.
