Custom orthotics and medical device configurators.

A brace is specified by a clinician and manufactured to one patient. We build the configurator that captures that specification and the pipeline that carries it to the printer.

SBFS builds parametric 3D configurators for custom medical devices, together with the patient records and the order pipeline behind them. For OrthoSolid, clinicians configure the CARPI, MINO and VOLAR orthosis lines in the browser, setting material, brace length, ventilation and fixings on a live 3D model from patient scan meshes, and an eleven-stage order workflow carries the device from design approval through 3D-printed manufacture, shipping and invoicing across five European languages.

02— Fit

Who this is for

Every device is patient-specific

Geometry, material and fixings change per patient, so a fixed SKU catalog cannot describe what you actually manufacture.

Clinicians specify, you manufacture

The specification has to leave the clinic complete and unambiguous, without paperwork or a phone call to interpret it.

You sell through a distributor network

Master distributors, distributors and professionals each need a different view of the same platform, often in a different language.

03— Capabilities

What we build

Parametric 3D device configurator

A ShapeDiver-powered configurator where clinicians set material, brace length, ventilation and fixings on a live 3D model, working from patient scan meshes.

Patient records and scan uploads

Patient data and uploaded scans feed the order directly, so the configuration and the case that produced it stay attached to each other.

An order-to-manufacture pipeline

OrthoSolid tracks every order across eleven statuses, from design approval and 3D-file generation through manufacture, shipping and invoicing.

Distributor roles and localisation

Role-based access for master distributors, distributors and professionals, with the platform localised across five European languages.

Custom orthosis, configured in-browser

OrthoSolid lets clinicians and distributors design custom 3D-printed orthoses — wrist, hand, and finger braces — in the browser. SBFS built the parametric 3D configurator, patient records, and the full order-to-manufacture pipeline, in five languages.

05— Method

How an engagement runs

01

Week 1 · Scope and device audit

We model the device lines, their parameters and the clinical inputs behind each one with your team, then write the spec. You see exactly what we will build before we start.

02

Weeks 2 to 6 · Build to MVP

Configurator, patient records, order pipeline and admin ship in parallel, with a reviewable demo every Friday in your own staging environment.

03

Week 6 · Production handoff

Deployed to your domain on your Vercel team and your Neon database, in the region you choose. Your team is trained on the system and we stay on retainer for tuning.

Technology · ShapeDiver

ShapeDiver development company.

ShapeDiver renders your parametric geometry in a browser. The accounts, pricing, checkout, exports and admin around it are still a product someone has to build.

Capability · Configuration to production

A product configurator that production can build from.

A configuration is only useful if the shop floor can build it. We model the option rules against what you actually manufacture, so the order that arrives is a specification, not a picture.

Decision · Cost and timeline

3D configurator development cost and timeline.

You need a number and a date you can take to a board, not a range that moves after discovery. Here is ours, and what is outside it.
